Teaching
Piano / Harp / Musicianship / Theory
Education:
I have a Master's Degree in Music Pedagogy from the Kodály Institute in Kecskemét, Hungary, where I studied for two years. The Kodály method is an approach to music making which incorporates skill building in different areas, so that musicians develop to be well-rounded and have strong aural skills. Approaching music in this way enriches the relationship with your instrument, ability to interpret the deeper meaning of a piece, and join theoretical knowledge with practical score reading. I studied piano with international soloists Barbara Murray and Anikó Novák, and harp with Eleanor Turner.

Approach:
I am a flexible and enthusiastic teacher with over 17 years’ tutoring experience with children, adolescents and adults from beginner to advanced levels. Although my background is in classical music, I am a lover of improvisation, playing by ear and finding your own way to build skills at an instrument you are excited about. I am passionate about meeting each student where they are at, no matter their age, technical level or aspirations, and work with you towards achievable goals. Whether you are looking for lessons to brush-up on technique, do Trinity / ABRSM exams, learn how to read music or play for the first time, improvise, compose your own songs, or concentrate on learning by ear, you are sure to experience lessons that meet your needs!

Location:
I teach from my studio in the Duddingston area of Edinburgh. Get in touch to enquire about availability!

Other:
